WHAT IS COUNSELING? 

Counseling is a collaboration between counselor and client. Together, you and your counselor identify challenges in your life and create solutions to help move your life in a positive direction. Foundations Counseling lays the groundwork for individuals, couples, and families to strengthen their self-esteem, build better communication, and promote behavior change. We believe everyone has the potential to build a better life. 

 
HOW CAN COUNSELING HELP ME? 

There are times in life when certain issues or life events can cause emotional distress, put a strain on relationships, or make it feel like your world is crumbling. Foundations Counseling offers the caring, expert assistance that you need during these stressful times. We can help you find new ways to cope with the challenges in your life.  

 
WHAT CAN ONE EXPECT AT A COUNSELING SESSION? 

We strive to make the counseling atmosphere relaxed, comfortable, and free from judgment. During your initial session, we will discuss your current situation and relevant history. From there, each counseling session is constructed from the goals you have identified as the basis for your growth. 

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING DO YOUR COUNSELORS HAVE? 

Every one of our therapists has either a Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral degree and/or certification credentials in counseling or psychology. Each is registered and/or certified in the state of Texas to practice counseling. Each counselor has specialized training and expertise in several specific areas of therapy.  

 
DO YOU OFFER COUNSELING SERVICES TO CHILDREN/ADOLESCENTS? 

Yes. Children and Adolescents are often helped by having their own individual sessions, sometimes in combination with family counseling. Adolescents can play an active role along with their counselor in deciding what will work best for them. Younger children usually benefit most from play therapy. 


ARE CLIENTS COUNSELING SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL? 

As a client, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the boundaries of the client/counselor relationship. The only limitations to confidentiality occur when clients are considered either a threat to themselves or someone else, or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be disclosed. WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE LOCATED? 

Our counseling office is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Currently, due to the pandemic, our office is only providing virtual services through our secure telehealth portal - this ensures that all Clients' are guaranteed best safe practices provided from our office.   


FREE PARKING IS AVAILABLE WHEN PROVIDING FACE-TO-FACE SERVICES 

 
WHAT IS YOUR COUNSELING SERVICE FEE? 

We offer a free initial registration/consultation to all new clients. Thereafter, each individual, couples, or family counseling session costs is based on the service provision. For your convenience, we accept the following forms of payments: PayPal; Debit Cards; Cash Ap; Visa; MasterCard; Discover; and, American Express. 


WHAT IS YOUR OFFICE COUNSELING CANCELATIOIN POLICY? 

There is no charge for any session cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.  Appointments not rescheduled and/or cancelled 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment is subject to the required session fees. 


DOES YOUR OFFICE ACCEPT INSURANCE? 

Because we are able to provide comparably affordable therapeutic services to all Clients, Trinity Cross Ministry Counseling Center is not contracted with any insurance company. Because, we are not contracted with insurance companies, we are able to pass on the savings to our all of our Clients. 

 
WHAT IS YOUR POSITION ON NOT ACCEPTING INSURANCE? 

Choice: You and your counselor are in charge of goals, length of treatment, and therapeutic choices. 
Savings: You pay less because we don't spend valuable time on insurance paperwork. 
Privacy: Insurance companies require a diagnosis to authorize treatment. These negative labels can follow you throughout your life and interfere with your insurability down the road. Your files are not shared with anyone outside of our organization without your permission. 

 
WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
